Abstract

A likely winner of the 2010 Aga Khan prize, Li Xiaodong belongs to the new generation of Chinese architects who offer alternatives to China’s current development model. Like Wang Shu (’A’A’ 375), he draws inspiration from the culture of the places he works on and ancestral expertise to develop a new identity for contemporary Chinese architecture.
