Abstract

Based on a letter sent by Alina Szeminska to Valentine Piaget in 1936 and a photograph showing all the protagonists, this dossier illustrates the conditions for the early careers of three women who were present in Piaget's research environment: Alina Szeminska, Bärbel Inhelder and Edith Meyer. During the 1930s, each of them was entrusted with important responsibilities in the research programs developed by Piaget, which contributed to her autonomy as a researcher. However, their careers diverged sharply as a result of the war.
