Abstract

The composition of the steam volatile oil of the aerial parts of Iochroma gesnerioides (Solanaceae) was analyzed by means of GC - MS. 71 compounds were identified by their mass spectra and their retention indices. The identified compounds are mainly alcohols, aldehydes, ketones and esters ; approximatively half of them are of terpenic origin.
