The photoactivity of a series of nanocrystallines TiO₂ powders, attached to conducting glass or metallic Ti substrates, was investigated. Photocurrents recorded under direct bandgap illumination are shown to be dramatically affected by the nature and concentration of the donor species present in the solution and, to a lesser extent, by the thickness of the semiconducting film.
