Abstract

The published structure data of trigonal beta-LaSc₃(BO₃)₄ are incorrect because they are not compatible with the formula of the compound. After correcting the positional atom co-ordinates of one O atom the structure is found to be isotypic with CeSc₃(BO₃)₄ which crystallizes with the huntite CaMg₃(CO₃)₄ structure type.
