Abstract

RuCl₂(PPh₃)₃ catalyzes oxidation of alcohols to carbonyi compounds by iodosylbenzene and that of aldehydes to carboxylic acids. Catalyzed oxidation of primary alcohols with phenyliodosodiacetate affords aldehydes.
