Abstract

Earlier liquid-chromatographic methods for the determination of gossypol, based on highly acidic methanolic solvents, provide broad tailing peaks. The use of acetonitrile with aqueous phosphoric acid/tri-n-butylammonium phosphate at pH 3.5 and a high-resolution radial-compression column gave greatly improved performance and excellent peak shape.
