Abstract

Although the eye is a small organ, ophthalmology is divided in an incredible numbers of subspecialties, which is suprising for our colleagues from other medical specialties. In a tertiary hospital, each ophthalmologist has a different field of exprtise: Oculoplstics specialist, glaucoma specialist, anterior segment and Cornea specialist, paediatric Ophthalmology Specialist, medical retina specialist, and vitreo-retinal specialist. By that means, the highest level of expertise can be reached. Unfortunately, the other side of the coin remains a certain level of unawareness regarding the consequences of actions done in one segment of the eye to the other.

Herein, by this work, we are highlighting the consequences of anterior segment surgeries on the retina and advocating for less invasive surgeries.
