Abstract

Impairments of health-related quality of life in patients hospitalised for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been hypothesised. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on emotional and clinical status, for both hospitalised and non-hospitalised patients, has been postulated. In this article we summarise the impact of COVID-19 on the quality of life of patients, taking into consideration age, gender and race differences. Cardiologists have to be aware of the effect of lockdown on physical activity and the consequences on general well-being status. We underline the need to identify vulnerable persons for early interventions and for long-term follow-up.
