Detection of Carbonyl Oxide from Singlet p-Nitrophenylchlorocarbene and Oxygen

Abstract

p-Nitrophenylchlorocarbene reacts with oxygen with a rate constant 2.24×10⁷M⁻¹S⁻¹ in isooctane at 25 °C giving rise to an intermediate carbonyl oxide which absorbs at 400 nm.
