Abstract

This article evaluates the inductively coupled plasma—atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES) technique for the determination of rare-earth elements in rocks. Comparisons are made with neutron activation analysis (NAA), another method commonly used for this purpose. It is predicted that ICP—AES will play an increasingly important role in such determinations.
