Zurich is often praised for its economic dynamism and its tradition of public-private collaboration. On the contrary, Bern is often criticized for being far behind other large Swiss cities in this respect. This presentation will confront these stereotypes by comparing the governance mechanisms of two emblematic urban renewal projects: Europaallee (Zurich) and Wankdorf-City (Bern).
