Abstract

Serving the State of Berne, Nikolaus Zurkinden (1506–1588) got involved with the construction of the Reformation in the Pays de Vaud. His correspondence shows a thorough concern for the theological debates. The most interesting link between the official administrator and the personal observer consists in his official French translation in 1551 of the liturgical documents of Berne. This article analyses to what extent it is possible to trace back in this work Zurkinden's personal interventions.
