Peopling history of Africa: a multidisciplinary perspective

Abstract

A scientific conference entitled Peopling history of Africa: a multidisciplinary perspective was organised in Geneva on 6ñ7 June 2019 (http://ua.unige.ch/peoplingafrica2019/). A total of 23 speakers from 12 different countries and representing multiple disciplines, namely genetics, archaeology, prehistory, anthropology and ethics were invited to talk. The scientific programme lasted two full days and included four sessions: 1) Palaeontology & Prehistory, 2) Ancient DNA & Genetic structure, 3) Cultural diffusion & Genetic adaptations and 4) Challenges of the multidisciplinary approach. All presentations were given as plenary talks, followed by substantial discussions.
