If studies about gender and migration have produced new analytical perspectives, those that question the way in which both motherhood and fatherhood are represented within the context of mobility are quite rare. This collection of essays contributes to the enrichment of this approach by taking an interest in the transformation of genders' social relations as a result of migration throughout the practice of parenthood. It offers an unpublished and innovative outlook on the differentiated approaches of being a father or a mother while questioning the often implicit relation between physical closeness and family unity.
