Neutrophil Activation: Control of Shape Change, Exocytosis, and Respiratory Burst

Abstract

Neutrophil leukocytes are defence cells that are recruited from the blood into inflamed tissues by chemotactic agonists. Agonist-receptor interaction elicits motion, granule exocytosis, and the respiratory burst. In vitro analysis shows that these responses are controlled at different levels of the intracellular signal transduction process.
