Normal-state susceptibility versus oxygen content in the Y2Ba4Cu7Ox superconducting phase

Published inPhysica C: Superconductivity and Its Applications, vol. 201, no. 1-2, p. 1-5
Publication date1992

Extensive measurements of the normal-state susceptibility have been performed on high-quality Y2Ba4Cu7Ox samples with different oxygen contents. We find a temperature dependence of the susceptibility similar to that of other high-Tc superconductors such as YBa2Cu3O7−δ. upon approaching the optimum hole doping, the normal-state susceptibility tends to become temperature-independent except for the region where superconducting fluctuations play a substantial role. For high-Tc samples (onset: 95 K) the susceptibility displays a very large rounding above Tc which can be attributed to 3D-2D superconducting fluctuations. The fluctuation temperature range extends 100 K above Tc.
