Abstract

Two modular antineutron detectors have been built and used to detect the low energy antineutrons produced in the charge-exchange reaction p̄p → n̄n in an experiment at LEAR. A novel calibration method has been used to measure the absolute efficiencies of the detectors, and allows for a precise measurement of the reaction differential cross-section.
