The eye can be considered as a distinct organ, surrounded by soft and bony structures that maintain the eye globe. It can be separated into posterior and anterior segment : The anterior segment includes the conjunctiva, cornea, aqueous humor,iris, ciliary body and the lens, while the posterior segment consists of the vitreous body, the retina, the macula, sclera and choroid and the optic nerve.
