Abstract

The alkaloid profile of the aerial parts of Schizanthus tricolor Grau et Gronbach was investigated by GC-MS. Seventeen alkaloids were detected and are reported in this species for the first time. They were identified by means of retention indices, together with the fragmentation pattern of reference material. 3 alpha-Methylitaconyloxytropane (12) is identified as a new alkaloid.
