Abstract

The discovery of antibiotics is one of the most important findings in human, environmental and animal health history. Initially, antibiotics are natural substances that are synthesized by microbes for their own defence. Their existence dates far back in history. Already in ancient times, antibiotics such as tetracycline were used in Sudan. Indeed, tetracycline traces were observed in ancient human skeletons from Nubia in Sudan dating from the years 350-550 Common Era. Its presence was probably due to a diet with food containing tetracycline [1].
