Cancer remains leading cause of death globally. In 2017, 1,688,780 new cancer cases and 600,920 cancer deaths are projected to occur only in the United States. These estimations show that one in two men and one in three women will develop cancer in their lifetime (1). Current treatments mainly regroup surgery (with 49% of cancer patients cured), radiotherapy alone or in combination with other modalities (40%) and chemotherapy alone or in combination with other modalities (11%) (2).
