Abstract The geochemical behaviour of antimony in aquatic sediments is directly affected by pH and redox conditions which, in turn, determine the presence of other compounds that can exert a strong control on the mobility of Sb. Our study illustrates how iron and manganese oxides, natural organic matter and sulphides play a role in the geochemistry of this toxic element
