Calculation of the large-"N" limit of CMB anisotropies induced by global scalar fields

Abstract

Usually large 3D simulations are used to calculate the cosmic microwave background anisotropies induced by global scalar fields. By going to the large N limit and solving the equations of motion analytically, one can drastically reduce the amount of numerical computations needed, while still finding results quite similar to the corresponding functions in the texture model.
