The work is structured in three parts. The first part is devoted to outlining the background of Plutarch’s Platonism: the first chapter reconstructs some central tenets of Stoic physics (principles, elements, cosmogony, providence), while the second chapter provides a reconstruction of Platonic strains before Plutarch. The second part explores the way Plutarch appropriates the demiurgic model and his debts to Stoicism, with a specific focus on the De E and the De animae procreatione. The third part is devoted to assessing Plutarch’s doctrines of matter and the cosmic soul and analysing the role played by the Stoics in this story. The overall claim of the thesis is that Plutarch’s notion of cause is developed by appropriating the Stoic notion of cause and framing it in a Platonic ontology. La thèse explore les influences stoïciennes sur la cosmologie et la théologie de Plutarque. Le travail est structuré en trois parties. Le premier chapitre reconstruit quelques principes centraux de la physique stoïcienne (principes, éléments, cosmogonie, providence), tandis que le deuxième chapitre reconstruit les courants platoniciens avant Plutarque. La deuxième partie explore la manière dont Plutarque s'approprie le modèle démiurgique ainsi que ses dettes envers le stoïcisme, en se concentrant sur le De E et le De animae procreatione. La troisième partie est consacrée à l'évaluation des doctrines de Plutarque sur la matière et l'âme cosmique et à l'analyse du rôle joué par les stoïciens dans cette histoire. La thèse générale est que la notion de cause de Plutarque est développée en s'appropriant la notion stoïcienne de cause et en l'encadrant dans une ontologie platonicienne.
