The novelty of this research is to examine these questions across three mobility stages, by apprehending downward social mobility as the passage from an employed to an unemployed status, including the special partially unemployed population, which became a common situation due to Covid-19. In addition, identification and external attribution was examined as a possible explanatory mechanism for this effect. Our analysis of data from the three countries (Israel, Switzerland and France) suggests for negative effect of downward social mobility on the attitudes toward homosexuals. Moreover, more identification with the unemployed was found to mediate the effect for more positive attitudes.
