Coelacanths have been present on this planet since the early Devonian, about 400 million years ago, until today. Here we describe two coelacanth fossils from Lebanon dating from the Cretaceous. The fossiliferous sites of Lebanon are world famous for their incredible diversity, and in particular for the abundance of their fossil ichthyofauna. By tracing the history of the only known Lebanese coelacanth genus, Macropomoides orientalis, we compared these specimens, as well as carried out phylogenetic analyses to better understand the evolutionary relationships of these "fishes". This study led us to assess the genus Macropomoides as well as the recognition of two new species. <p>Les cœlacanthes appartiennent au groupe des actinistiens et ne sont représentés aujourd’hui que par un genre ; Latimeria. Les cœlacanthes sont présents sur cette planète depuis le début du Dévonien, il y a environ 400 millions d’années, et ce jusqu’à aujourd’hui. Ici nous décrivons deux fossiles de cœlacanthes provenant du Liban et datant du Crétacé. Les sites fossilifères du Liban sont mondialement réputés pour leur incroyable diversité, et notamment pour l’abondance de leurs ichtyofaunes fossiles. En retraçant l’histoire du seul genre de cœlacanthe libanais connu, Macropomoides orientalis, nous avons comparés ces spécimens, ainsi qu’effectué des analyses phylogénétiques pour mieux comprendre les relations évolutives de ces « poissons ».
