Diplôme Master La relación entre diferentes tipos de psicoterapias y distintas técnicas de interpretación en ámbitos de salud mental spa 2021 author Carrillo González Lorena 834203 director Ruiz Rosendo Lucia 738297 Given the current migratory and socio-demographic situation, more and more people require mental health services and resort to therapists that do not share their native language. Interpreter-mediated therapy is a means to address this situation. Research on interpreting in mental health settings has focused primarily on the role of the interpreter and interpreting errors. However, interpreting in different types of psychotherapy and the possibility of using interpreting techniques other than dialogue interpreting are matters that have not yet been analysed in detail. This study reflects on the possibility and implications of using different interpreting techniques for different kinds of psychotherapy. It also compiles existing guidelines on how to work with interpreters in order to examine what aspects are crucial in this joint endeavour from the mental health perspective. It is an invitation to the development of an interdisciplinary dialogue.
