More specifically, we aimed to test the hypothesis that biospheric values impact visual attention towards environmentally relevant stimuli. In this study, 102 participants (aged between 19 and 30 years old) completed an online survey on biospheric values, and they later performed a cuing task in the laboratory. We measured their reaction time (RT) to a decision task that was cued by pictures of positive, negative and neutral valence, that either reflected nature-related content or not. Findings showed that values are a relevant predictor of RT, however, biospheric values did not influence visual attention as a function of picture content. We discuss limits to this study and offer recommendations for future research.
