All parents of children (≤18 years old) with intractable epilepsy who underwent epilepsy surgery between 2007 and 2017 in the University Hospital of Geneva (HUG) were included in this study. Thirty-one parents completed and returned the questionnaire. The follow-up period varied from 3 to 11 years (M= 7.45, SD= 2.94). A 16-item questionnaire was used to measure several aspects that are likely to impact satisfaction after epilepsy surgery. Overall, parents were very satisfied with the surgery and the information they received preoperatively. Our analysis showed that seizure freedom and absence of developmental delay in their child were linked to a better parental satisfaction (p<.01). Our findings suggest that parents are satisfied with the epilepsy surgery in their child and would recommend the intervention to other children in the same situation.
