Moreover, it has been shown that emotions modulate the memory and that threatening stimuli showed an advantage at attention capture and memory enhancement. In this study we aimed to show for the first time that emotions in auditory modality play a role in spatial navigation and spatial memory in a virtual reality task through mazes. We hypothesized that the greater the difficulty of an environment would be, the greater the modulation of the emotions would be. To this end, participants navigate through four different mazes of gradual difficulty in which they heard different prosodies at particular junction with three turnoffs.
