Decision-making is mainly supported by forecasting models driven by weather predictions. However, these decisions are inherently uncertain, as some treatments ultimately prove unnecessary, although this information only becomes available retrospectively from observed conditions. This study explores the integration of an advanced spore detection device to better target fungicide applications in vineyards, aiming to reduce the use of phytosanitary products while maintaining high grape quality. The stand-alone device uses digital holography combined with artificial intelligence (AI) for detecting and classifying airborne spores of both downy and powdery mildew. It enables the tracking of disease dynamics as well as the assessment of environmental conditions and treatment effects on spore counts. Two case studies with real-time data access in Changins, Switzerland and Château le Puy, France, are presented and revealed promising strategies for substantial reductions in fungicide use while maintaining effective disease control.</p> Dewey 500.2 Dewey 333.7-333.9 35 Groupe de physique appliquée 135 18 Institut des sciences de l'environnement 0DB false 676 Groupe Wolf 803 Groupe Kasparian 938 ISE Pôle Sciences Frontiers in plant science 17 774d3673-0c7a-4949-a16a-69b3d173d42c Article (Published version) Public fpls-17-1871510.pdf 3404724 application/pdf CC BY-4.0 a6de5d6cf2483851afd9d0541284c3612971b06f99a06a6c1c1d8092f81ecad1 openAccess Faculté des sciences / Section de physique / Groupe de physique appliquée Centres et instituts / Institut des sciences de l'environnement
