Despite the growth in cycling, the gender gap in cycling practices is persistent. This master's thesis adopts a feminist perspective within urban geography to investigate how young women in the canton of Geneva engage with bike mobility, with a particular focus on women's daily mobility. Employing a mixed-methods approach, the study focuses on the student population as a case study to explore both qualitative and quantitative dimensions of mobility behavior. The findings reveal that, for female young people, deficiencies in cycling infrastructure and gendered based violences strongly hinder their experience and the possibility for cycling uptake. However, contrasting experiences under elements such as intersectionality, performativity, embodiment and motility has proved to shed light on gendered dynamics that if addressed from a gendered perspective cycling engagement can be improved.
