Yet, it seems that some are falser than others. Similarly, it appears that some propositions, while false, are, at least in part, true, i.e., partially true. That is particularly important for the assessment of scientific theories. For, strictly speaking, our best scientific theories are false. Yet, we want to say that they are true in some sense and are more true and less false than previous scientific theories. To this extent, we need a working notion of comparative verisimilitude to ascertain which propositions are more truthlike than others. The debate concerning this technical notion is a longstanding one. However, while substantial progress has been made, a completely satisfactory account of verisimilitude is still missing. In this thesis, I will offer a novel account of verisimilitude, pairing tools from measure theory and the formal background of truthmaker semantics. In doing so, I will provide an original assessment of the latter and a novel understanding of the notion of approximate truth. Toutes les propositions sont soit vraies, soit fausses. Pourtant, il semble que certaines soient plus fausses que d’autres. De même, il apparaît que certaines propositions, bien que fausses, contiennent en partie une vérité, c'est-à-dire qu’elles sont partiellement vraies. Cela est particulièrement important pour l’évaluation des théories scientifiques, car, à proprement parler, nos meilleures théories scientifiques sont fausses. Pourtant, nous voulons dire qu’elles sont vraies dans un certain sens, et qu’elles sont plus vraies et moins fausses que les théories scientifiques précédentes. À cet égard, il nous faut une notion opérationnelle de vérisimilitude comparative afin de déterminer quelles propositions se rapprochent davantage de la vérité que d’autres. Le débat autour de cette notion technique est ancien. Toutefois, bien que des progrès substantiels aient été accomplis, une présentation pleinement satisfaisante de la vérisimilitude fait encore défaut. Dans cette thèse, je proposerai une nouvelle conception de la vérisimilitude, qui associe des outils de la théorie de la mesure à l’arrière-plan formel de la sémantique des truthmakers. Ce faisant, je fournirai une évaluation originale de cette dernière ainsi qu’une nouvelle compréhension de la notion de vérité approximative.
