Surrogate motherhood is a much debated topic which presents an extremely heterogeneous situation within the European Union. This thesis analyses the legal framework related to surrogacy at EU level, particularly with regard to the recognition of foreign judgments and acts issued by foreign authorities. The second part of the work offers the translation of an extract of the judgment of the European Court of Human Rights in the case Mennesson v. France.
