This study aims to assess the development and application of the digital currency globalization process. To achieve this aim, the following objectives guided the study: to assess how digital money is developing and being applied globally; to evaluate the potential impacts of digital money on the future of trade and the performance of the global economy; to determine the impacts that digital money has on globalization; and to assess the benefits and drawbacks of digital money in the process of globalization. The study adopted a qualitative research approach. Primary and secondary data were collected. Primary data was collected using interviews, while secondary data was collected through reviewing relevant literatures on the topic of study. The study found that indeed, digital currencies continue to evolve and to be used in the global economy. The future of digital currencies is positive and their growth will continue being experience in the coming years.
