Abstract

The two faunas of the Bronze age come from the Département de la Haute-Savoie (France). 45 kinds of molluscas were discovered; 16 species are to be found in both places, 12 species characterize the first one (Le Coin), 17 the second one (La Menoge). The climate was not so warm as it is now; it is possible to show that the warmest species now living in the Bassin de Genève are missing in the Bronze deposits. It is also very uncertain that the Bronze age should correspond to the post-glacial optimum climate.
