Abstract

Free and Open Source Software (F/oss) constitutes a large class of the software used today. Such software is produced by a self-organizing community that has no centralized control. The absence of control can lead to operational and efficiency problems for large-sized projects. This paper proposes a process reference model (PRM) and model that captures the activities, roles and resources of the process, that allows reasoning about process coherency and efficiency.
