Wedding of Zein” by Tayeb Salih (1929-2009) is a comic novel written in colloquial Sudanese Arabic. This thesis aims at exploring the translation of rhetoric use in Salih's work into English, assuming that translator translates through intralingual translation. The need for this research comes from the lack of studies in Intralingual translation, and the rareness of research in colloquial Sudanese rhetorical use. This study has two parts: theoretical which includes “memes of translation” of (Chesterman, 2009) and “intralingual translation”; and practical part which analyses rhetoric use in colloquial Sudanese along with its cultural equivalence in English. After a descriptive analyzes of metaphoric use, the study provides that intralingual translation is significant in proper translation process, as well as the memes of translation, in order to understand them and to fit the equivalence faithfully.
