The present article is a sequel to a previous paper studying the circulation and possible borrowings of a literary (some would say "mythical") motif around the ancient Mediterranean world: that of the marvellous fruits growing in a magical garden, out of reach to the mere mortals. This paper follows up on the construction and reuses of this motif of heavenly "apples" in the Latin and Christian world, from the Late Antiquity up until during the Middle Ages and particularly in the Irish stories concerning travels (immrama) and adventures (echtrai) in the Otherworld.
