Abstract

This thesis is divided into two parts: The first describes the development of a fast templated reaction and novel detection systems for sequence-specific DNA/RNA detection; the second describes the design and implementation of a new photouncaging system that can be used to release bioactive small molecules using luciferase, without using external light source.
